If you’re not ready to compete with Garcia or Woods just yet, or even if you don’t know one end of a club from the other but wouldn’t mind finding out, the cute and compact 9-hole course of Los Palos in Guaza could be just what you need.

With easy par 3s all the way round, a driving range, putting and chipping practise areas, this is a great course for both complete beginners and those who are a little more adept but are looking for a quick round in Tenerife.

The carne con papas (beef stew) at the clubhouse restaurant is also worth trying.
