Sometimes, you're thousands of miles from the UK, and you just need that taste of home. So what do you do? You go for an Indian, of course. And there aren't many on the island that better the imaginatively named 'The Indian Restaurant'. Following the success of their Indian Restaurant in Mallorca, Jan and Shaun from Kent decided to transplant the magic formula (and the chef) to Tenerife. Small, intimate and child-friendly, The Indian Restaurant has built up a worthy reputation in the south of Tenerife for zingy Punjabi dishes. For kids and those with less exotic tastes, a number of simpler meals are on the menu. A special lunchtime deal means you can have a choice of starter and choice of main meal for €7.50 - not bad business in anybody's books. Chef's specials include the poetic-sounding Murgi Mango Curry and the not so appealing Spinach and Cheese Curry. Each to their own, I suppose.
